Christian Adoption Services is a private, non-profit agency whose primary purpose is to provide domestic and international children the opportunity of having a loving, Christ-centered family.

Car Care Ministry

Director: Tony Reiter

Team members reach out to widows, single moms and ladies who cannot afford to have regular maintenance and minor repairs on their cars. You don't have to be a mechanic to help.

Needs:

•We need Support people(preferably women) to talk and to share Jesus with people while they are waiting.

•People to do minor repairs and help clean up after the work is done.

 

 

The Charlotte Rescue Mission/Rebound

Director: Gail Gillman

Charlotte Rescue Mission provides shelter to people who find themselves homeless while recovering from addictions. This team serves once a month providing and serving meals to residents at the Charlotte Rescue Mission.

 

 

The Charlotte Rescue Mission/Dove's Nest

Director: Sallie Saxon

Dove's Nest is the women's division that provides shelter for women and children.  We will help quartly by providing & serving meals and sharing the Gospel with the women & children.

 

 

Room in the Inn

Director: Keith De Freitas

The Urban Ministry Center has been working with churches to open their facilities one night a week to provide shelter, food (two meals), fellowship, and a witness to the homeless during the winter months.

Needs:

•Men to spend the night with the homeless.

•People to provide meals & fellowship during dinner.

•People to provide breakfast & sack lunches.

 

 

Feeding the Multitude

Director: Donna Sallee

FBCM members are asked to donate $ for gift cards. In November, we will provide grocery store gift cards with enough money to purchase a meal for a needy family. Flyers are distributed in the Matthews area and FBCM members personally give out the gift cards so they will have the opportunity to share the gospel.

 

 

Servants With A Heart

Director: Jason Johnson

This 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation helps sponsoring organizations create highly-nutritious, dehydrated meals to be delivered to malnourished children and their families. They provide equipment, supplies, and instructions. We provide a packing location and volunteers.

 

Salvation Army Center of Hope

Directors: Ray Sawyer

Women & Children's Homeless Shelter seeks to provide daily stability and a permanent way out of homelessness. It is Charlotte's only 24/7 year around emergency shelter that has 224 beds and rountinely operates at capacity. Center of Hope is the largest shelter in the Southeast that offers a comprehensive program of on site services. FBCM serves a meal monthly and ministers to the women.

 

 

Justice Ministries, Inc.

Director: Michelle Letcher

This 501(c)3 organization is committed to combating human trafficking. The mission is to locate victims, help them get out of their situation to a safe place where they can heal, and assist them in their transition to independence. You can pray, donate, or volunteer.

 

 

Outreach/Evangelism Ministry

Director: Tom Charping

Outreach to those who have visited our church by the active deacons. Also on Visitation Sundays, once a month, members make personal visits to church prospects and to newcomers who have moved to the Matthews area recently. We reach out to our community.

 

 

Pregnancy Resource Center of Charlotte

Director: Kerry Jamison

This is a non-profit pregnancy counseling organization that is staffed by professional personnel. Women facing unintended pregnancies are taught about their options and all services are free of charge and confidential.

 

 

Mecklenburg County Jail Ministry

Directors: Don and Sallie Saxon

First Baptist Matthews is looking for people to serve by leading weekly Bible study lessons for inmates serving time in Charlotte Mecklenburg County Jail. This is a powerful way to bring hope through Jesus Christ to inmates who feel hopeless and alone.

 

 

The Closet Ministry

Director: Lori Cantrell

Our mission is to share the love of Jesus and help lift economic burdens by providing quality used and new clothing, shoes and linens to men, women and children whos families are under financial strain.
