Student D-Groups

Student D-Groups meet at First Baptist Matthews on Sunday night from 5:00-7:00pm. Through these unique small groups, Students are challenged in their walk with Christ through Fellowship, Study and Accountability.

D-1 Group

Overview: This group is for students who may or may not be Christians. They are seeking answers and desire to know more of what Christianity is all about.

Student Expectations: Students will participate in discussions and be respectful to one another and leadership. While no homework will be required, students should be able to explain a basic understanding of Sin, Salvation and the Bible.

D-2 Group

Overview: This group is for students who are Christians but are still seeking some basic understanding of the faith.

Student Expectations: Students will read a chapter and discuss in small groups. To maintain this Tier students must bring their book and Bible and participate in discussions. D2 Students will also be expected to share their faith with at least two people during the course of the school year and to write a brief summery of what happened. Success is based not on their acceptance of Christ but on your willingness to share.

D-3 Group

Overview: This group is for the mature Christian who desires to go deep in their walk with Christ and seeks to be challenged in various aspects of their faith.

Student Expectations: Students will complete the weekly assignments as outlined in the D-group material which will include weekly scripture memory, weekly Bible readings and journaling, as well as sharing their faith with at least two people during the course of the school year and to write a brief summery of what happened. Success is based not on their acceptance of Christ but on your willingness to share.
