Pastoral Care

Praying and walking together as a church family through some of lifeʼs most difficult circumstances describes the heart of the Care Ministry at First Baptist Matthews.

1 Corinthians 12:25-26
that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

We count it a joy to serve the body of Christ during hospitalization, times of grief and during later years of life through homebound and nursing home visitation. In times of death our team looks to meets the needs of each family in remembering their loved ones and assisting through our Mercy and Bereavement teams to provide a meal for family.

Stephen Ministry

An important facet of First Baptist Matthewsʼ Care Ministry is the equipping and sending of Stephen Ministers.
