Our purpose in music ministry is to facilitate praise and worship through music that glorifies God and edifies the people of God. Since every Christian is instructed by God to offer musical praise and worship to Him, we want to ensure each person’s opportunity to be involved in that pursuit.
These scriptures serve as a description of Music Ministry:
John 4:23-24 “But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Ephesians 5:18-21 “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.”
Colossians 3:16-17 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Psalm 71:22-23 “…Also with the lute I will praise You—And Your faithfulness, O my God! To You I will sing with the harp, O Holy One of Israel. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul, which You have redeemed.”
Ministry Priorities:
---To facilitate God-glorifying, congregational worship through music, by utilizing various musical styles to minister to people with various musical preferences.
--- To facilitate congregational music that pleases God and helps draw people into God’s manifest presence.
--- To facilitate special musical presentations (choirs, ensembles, soloists and instrumentalists) that glorify God and edify people.
--- To facilitate an atmosphere that is conducive to outreach and evangelism through music ministry.
Music Ministry Opportunities
Children's Music:
Preschool Music and Missions…for children ages three years through kindergarten on Wednesday evenings from September through April. Volunteers are needed to both lead and assist in music and mission education.
Music Makers (grades 1-3) Wednesday
Young Musicians (grades 3-6) Wednesday
Children Handbells Sundays 4:15-5:00
Student Music:
Student Praise Band…Students lead the time of Praise and Worship during our Wednesday and Sunday night youth group meetings.
Adult Music:
Audio-Visual, Music, Drama
Praise / Worship Band…meeting Wednesday evenings
Praise / Worship Choir…meeting Wednesday evenings
